When Mark Paul Gosselaar starred on Saved by the Bell as Zach Morris, his character was all about his hair. Even if that hair was bleached a bright blond on a regular basis. On Saved by the Bell it was all about a competition between Zach and A.C. Slater (played by Mario Lopez), and a big part of that competition was having good hair (mostly to impress the ladies). However, as time wore on, Mario definitely won that battle.

I thought something looked a bit different about UK "Gangsta" DJ Timothy "Tim" Westwood. By the looks of it, I think the 53 year old has had his hairline reconstructed. As in the last 10 years or so, his hairline has been getting away from him a little bit.

Tim Westwood hosts the UK version of Pimp My Ride, and has his own radio show full of Street Rap right from tha hood. Although the whole of the UK would agree that he is a bit of a prat that thinks he's from da hood, even though he was privately schooled in a very posh school.

The latest James Bond may be able to kick butt on screen, but his hairline is kicking his butt in life. Reader James G. writes, "Do you think he brushes it forward to show a lower hairline or is it just filled in with something?" It seems in movies Daniel has a mix of hair pieces, comb-forwards and comb-sideways to make his hair line look fuller. However, lately, in his every day life Daniel is embracing his natural hair line, even as it fades away.

As part of the initiation into public life, he decided to do what many politicians do: invest in hair pieces. Rocker and reality TV star Bret Michaels is recovering from a brain hemorrhage he suffered last week and could resume his concert tour next month, according to a statement on his website.

Michaels, 47, suffered a massive brain hemorrhage and was hospitalized last Friday.

In a statement, his manager Janna Elias said, "Doctors remain hopeful for a full recovery and plan to release more specific information next Monday," CNN reported today on its website.

The statement from Elias said that Michaels, who was the frontman for the rock band Poison, suffered a side effect from the brain hemorrhage called "hyponatremia" caused by a "lack of sodium in the body which leads to seizures."

"He is responding well to tests and treatments," she added.

Elias said Michaels' tour could resume as early as May 26 in Fort Smith, Ark., "provided there are no further complications or setbacks."

The possibility Michaels could return to performing next month comes just six days after what has been described as a near-fatal attack.

"Doctors state Michaels is very lucky as his condition could have been fatal," Elias said.

His manager and publicist have been careful not to disclose the hospital or even the city where the singer is being treated. They have said the location has been kept secret for security reasons.

While Michaels is starring in the current edition of NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice" -- which was taped last fall -- and he's also slated to appear on "Fantasy Camp," a new series premiering July 9 on VH1.

Michaels was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 6. He had an emergency appendectomy April 12 after complaining of stomach pains before he was scheduled to perform in San Antonio.

When I've had the misfortune of catching this show on tv I've often wondered to myself how they calculated two and a half men because Jon Cryer's character is half a man at best. That plus the kid and Charlie Sheen just cannot equal Two and a Half Men. Unless their definition of "men" is a bit more lax than mine.

Occasionally I'll catch one of his movies on tv and think to myself "I need to do an entry on Rob" but then I fall asleep or change the channel and block Rob and his movies out of my head. But his hair piece is too good not to write about.

You can see a few years back that Rob clearly was balding. The front was receding:

Rob began to notice too, because all of a sudden he began pushing his hair forward to hide the balding. But the top was too thin for him to get away with this:

Interesting. I just looked up information on Brittany Murphy's widower baldie Simon Monjack and learned something new. In February 2007, he was arrested and spent nine days in jail due to an expired visa. Three months later he married Brittany Murphy, in May 2007. Prior to the wedding Simon and Brittany rarely made public appearances together. Oh and they didn't announce the "engagement" to anyone. Hmmmm.

I hear Simon is a difficult man to get along with and his temper and erratic behavior have actually cost Brittany some acting jobs. Not even his hair wants to be near him! Look at the top of his head, it's like the hairs can't get away fast enough!

Reader Andrew T. suggested I expose Steven Seagal, and find out with this Lawman looks like without a toupee. Unfortunately, the guy never seems to take it off! However, by looking at pictures from his past, we know that Steven Seagal definitely wears a hairpiece - a very obvious one.

And for those who haven't yet - you must check out his new show on A&E called Steven Seagal: Lawman. Steven spent time working as a deputy sheriff in Jefferson Parish Louisiana. On this show, he spends time letting everyone know how awesome he is. He says great things like: "Some of you may know who I am, and some of you don't. I've been doing martial arts for 40 years, so you can look at me as Steven Seagal, he's a movie star, or you can look at me and say Steven Seagal, he can save my life."

Seann, better known as the guy who played Stifler, has been balding for quite sometime. Most of us didn't notice because he has been good at hiding it. This guy can do anything - except stop his hair line from receding. His seems to be in the early stages, either that or he is able to hide it well. He uses the comb the hair forward approach. Yet another former boy band star has made his way to our site. We first heard the name Drew Lachey when the boy band 98 Degrees burst onto the scene in the late 90's. After the boy band era faded, we only heard from Drew occasionally, as a guest on his brother Nick's reality show, Newlyweds. Then out of nowhere Drew showed up on Dancing with the Stars and won.

A few nights ago, I was flipping through the channels and caught the tail end of Drew's appearance on Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? I didn't watch it long enough to find out if he was indeed smarter than a 5th grader. But I did watch it long enough to notice his hairline isn't what it used to be.

Adam makes this one easy for us, because he freely admits to wearing a wig. According to a 2008 Rolling Stone article:

Demi Moore went from one baldie to another. However, her ex Bruce Willis has learned to embrace his balding, while Ashton chooses denial. Here's a picture of Ashton from a few years back when That 70's Show was still on:

You can clearly see where his hairline is receding. Now it is clicking. We all know why Ashton has that ridiculous hair style where he brushes his hair forward and in his face. It hides the receding hairline and distracts our attention.

But occasionally he brushes it just a little too far to the side, or the wind blows and we all see the truth.

Ashton is young yet, so his hairline isn't so far gone. But we'll be watching him for hairpieces and plugs, both of which I am predicting in his future.

Recently, Diane Sawyer interviewed singer Rihanna about the abuse she suffered at the hands of singer Chris Brown. In what feels like a week long interview (seriously, they play 5 minutes of the interview a day!), I couldn't help but notice Rihanna's forehead was looking bigger than normal. I then noticed her hairline was the opposite. I was going to be nice and not mention it on this blog, but then I saw Twitter was all a-twitter about it, so I figured Rihanna's hairline is fair game.

Rihanna definitely wears a lot of hairpieces and wigs, and as with Beyonce and Fergie, these hairpieces are affecting the real hair underneath. She is young now and has time to stop her hariline from getting worse. Hopefully she will.

Andre Agassi Admits Wig Wearing

In Andre Agassi's new autobiography he reveals that he wore a hairpiece in the 1990 French Open. Interestingly enough, the book is titled "Open."

At the 1990 French Open, Andre sent his brother around Paris to find bobby pins for Andre's hair. The spiked-mullet weave did not seem to want to cooperate. Andre writes (or rather Andre tells his "co-author" to write):

'I asked myself: you want to wear a toupee? On the tennis court? I answered myself; what else could I do?...Then a fiasco happened, the evening before the match, I stood under the shower and felt my wig suddenly fall apart.

Probably I used the wrong hair rinse. I panicked and called my brother Philly into the room. "It’s a total disaster!" I said to him. He looked at it and said he could clamp it with hair clips. It took 20 clips. "Do you think it will hold?" I asked. "Just don’t move so much," he said.

Of course I could have played without my hairpiece, but what would all the journalists have written if they knew that all the time I was really wearing a wig? During the warming-up training before play I prayed. Not for victory, but that my hairpiece would not fall off. With each leap, I imagined it falling..."

It's not hard to spot where the hair piece is. I wonder what it is made of? Oh Andre, hopefully now you see, you are better off without that ridiculous thing!

Esteban Cambiasso is an Argentine footballer who currently plays as a defensive midfielder for Italian Serie A club Internazionale and the Argentine national team. His nickname is Cuchu. He got this nickname when he sneezed one day "cuchu!" and the force of the sneeze caused his hair to fly off. Haha well the scientists might be able to disprove my last statement, but wouldn't that have been funny if it happened like that?

For Esteban, I'm just glad he came to terms with his balding head and shaved his hair. He doesn't look so scary now!

Thursdays for the past few years have been my favorite night for television. I always turn to NBC for the comedy line up. 30 Rock gets better each season. The Office cracks me up. And my favorite show in the line-up, My Name is Earl. A show with a balding protagonist (played by Jason Lee) and his side-kick, his more balding brother, Randy (played by Ethan Suplee). A show that left us with a big cliffhanger at the end of last season, and then was subsequently canceled. So here's to you Earl - small hairline, but big mustache and even bigger heart!

Kobe Bryant!

I'm originally from LA so by default I am a Lakers fan, and I do think Kobe has a lot of talent. However, I also think he knows it. And won't let us forget it. Ever. Although after all of his personal drama (cheating, rape charges, etc.) became public he has calmed down a bit. Or maybe it was his balding head that calmed him down.

Here he is 2007. You can see the hairline has receded a little bit, but not too noticeable. What is noticeable is that Mr. Bryant used to do more with his hair, and around this time he just kept it shaved.

I've had a bone to pick with this guy for a long time now. When I was younger, I got into classic movies and the Jazz Singer was recommended to me. I went to the video store and asked for the Jazz Singer. Instead of giving me the classic Al Jolson Jazz Singer, the guy gave me the Neil Diamond one. Not knowing any better, I rented and watched it. As I'm writhing in pain trying to stick it out until the end of the movie, my dad walks by and asks me why I'm watching this movie. I explain to him why and he laughs and fills me in on the fact that this is a remake.

For this role, Neil Diamond was awarded the first ever Worst Actor Razzie. Guess I wasn't the only one who thought he was awful in that movie. Neil butchered a classic. And almost turned me off to older movies. For that I'll always be angry with him. Even if I love Sweet Caroline.

But back to what this blog is all about - we all know Neil has been balding for years. What we may not know is he is balder than he leads on. Take a look below at a before and after:

No this is not Vanilla Ice. Although it could be his long lost cheeseball brother. This is Ryan Getzlaf, a pro hockey player (currently with the Anaheim Ducks). If you can bring your eyes away from those things he calls his teeth, you can see his hairline is clearly receding. "Yes, we know he's openly gay! Yes he used to be chubby himself at one time! But the real subject we don't know is what's more phonier: ANT's phony laugh routine or the thing on his head?

Is that a rug? Is that some type of miracle of science? Is it the worst-looking kind of hair plugs I ever seen?

We don't know! But in any event, after appearing on a few sitcoms, with a few years of stand-up comedy under his belt and shortly before Celebrity Fit Club even came in session, ANT was already losing his hair by the time the very late '90s/early 2000s came to town.

Here he is on To Tell the Truth in 2001, already losing hair by this point and still slightly chubby.

What all the chunkiness gone, here comes what apparently looks like an odd-looking toupee or plugs, probably toup!

Look at the pic of him with George Takei: notice how the color of the sides of his head do not match the top of head. Can anyone say: "TOUUUU-PEEEE!!!," anyone?

Jimmy Clausen QB for Notre Dame

This one is a bit sad to report because he is balding so rapidly at such a young age. Then again, Jimmy Clausen, starting quarterback for Notre Dame seems to have a promising career, so I shouldn't feel too bad for him. Especially after yesterday's win, a last minute drive that gave the Fighting Irish a 24-21 win over Purdue, his career seems to be the least of his worries. And with an NFL contract and more money than he can count, Jimmy can buy hair plugs or a nice collection of hair pieces.

Here you can see his hair is thinning on top and a bald spot starting on the back of his head.

The email, from reader Alex, had the great shot below of Declan 'Dec' Donnelly on the left (thinning) and Anthony 'Ant' McPartlin on the right (receding), two tv personalities in the UK. They present Saturday night entertainment shows. And they put on another show of their own each night, hiding their hairlines.

Alex writes: "Note how Dec does the thinking look which causes lines in the forehead and makes receding and bald hair appear less severe." Good eye Alex! They should try to always have Jude Law on the show so that by comparison their hairlines look full.

As Blue Gold writes "We know why he wears a baseball hat all the time." Yes we do. I took a look at older pictures of Travis, the drummer from Blink 182 (also had a reality show on MTV called "Meet the Barkers") and noticed his hairline has been receding for quite some time. Who knew!

He does have hair on the top of his head, but you can clearly see 2 things: 1) the sides still appear to be receding and 2) the hair on the top definitely looks thinner than the hair in the back. Before Billy Bob. Before Brad Pitt. Before all the kids. Since then he has been in Trainspotting, Æon Flux, and most recently starred in the title role of tv show Eli Stone. It seems that he has been losing his hair for quite a few years, and that sometimes he hides it and sometimes he just lets the truth show. Here he is in 2005 at the Æon Flux premiere:

"Remember all those mongering rumors of Steve Harvey shaving his head? Remember those mongering rumors about his alleged hairpiece?

Well folks, say what you will, but the real funniest thing about Steve Harvey...is that big, bright, light shining on the back of his head, aka his big bald spot! This was taken from one of his early stand-up comedy shows during the early-to-mid '90s.

And here's a pic of the back of his head from an episode of "The Steve Harvey Show."

Notice the lack of a bald spot in this pic. Even funnier thing is that Judge Greg Mathis is calling him Steve Highwire, because apparently even he knows that Steve not only had his hairline painted on but the funnier part is that highwire weave-hairpiece that he had sewn into his head!

The other giveaways were that in those early pics of him, you can tell that he was losing little bits of some of his hair in the front and that straight hairline in those pics of him from "The Steve Harvey Show."

I did a post a few months ago on Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas, not really noticing the short dude next to her. Likely it is because that short guy, Will.I.Am, also from the Black Eyed Peas, is usually wearing a hat, as seen above. Will.I.Am seems to have the dual approach to hiding his hairline. First the hat. Second, the facial hair to detract attention from the top of the head. With him, this seems to work. But sooner or later, I find out the truth.

Now I'm starting to see how Fall Out Boy got it's name. First Pete Wentz, and now singer Patrick Stump. Patrick is always wearing hats so I had suspected but didn't have the proof. Unfortunately for him, Patrick Stump was arrested on a two-year-old warrant for driving without a valid license. Which means, mugshot time!

Then again now that I look back on it, this picture does have early signs of balding. Look on the sides of his head. Recently he has resurfaced in Post Grad, which I checked out this weekend. I totally forgot about this guy, and so did the world, but leave it up to Dancing with the Stars to bring him back into the public light! It was recently announced that he will be one of the contestants on the upcoming season. This former Congressman from Sugarland, Texas was one of the Congressmen who accepted "gifts" from Jack Abramoff. Here's his mug shot:

The money laundering and violations of campaign finance laws are nothing compared to the crime that is his hair piece. Let's take a look shall we: Here's a picture of the bald spot on the back of his head. This is from a book signing in March 2007:

Clearly, he is balding, yet he always seems to have a great head of hair. Too bad it's not his. See how the hair piece does not have a part and just sits atop his head?

The next picture is by far my favorite. Don't you love how Chris Matthews' hair is blowing wild in the wind yet Tom Delay's "hair" is stuck to his head?

Les Paul, the guitar virtuoso and inventor who revolutionized music and created rock 'n' roll as surely as Elvis Presley and the Beatles by developing the solid-body electric guitar and multitrack recording, died Thursday at age 94.

Known for his lightning-fast riffs, Paul performed with some of early pop's biggest names and produced a slew of hits, many with wife Mary Ford. But it was his inventive streak that made him universally revered by guitar gods as their original ancestor and earned his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as one of the most important forces in popular music.

Paul, who died in White Plains, N.Y., of complications from pneumonia, was a tireless tinkerer, whose quest for a particular sound led him to create the first solid-body electric guitar, a departure from the hollow-body guitars of the time. His invention paved the way for modern rock 'n' roll and became the standard instrument for legends like Pete Townshend and Jimmy Page.

He also developed technology that would become hallmarks of rock and pop recordings, from multitrack recording that allowed for layers and layers of "overdubs" to guitar reverb and other sound effects.

"He was truly the cornerstone of popular music," said Henry Juskiewicz, chairman and CEO of Gibson Guitar, which mass produced Paul's original invention. "He was a futurist, and unlike some futurists who write about it and predict things, he was a guy who actually did things."

Star of Gossip Girl, guest star on Californication and winner of not one, not two, but three Teen Choice Awards! What a stud. Oh and did I forget to mention he's the lead singer of a band called Filthy Youth?

This guy is only 22 but it looks like he is already showing signs of balding. He usually combs his hair forward (like Giovanni Ribisi in the entry below) to hide the hair line. But here is a clear shot (June 2009) of his Jude Law-esque hair line:

Most recently seen starring alongside Johnny Depp in Public Enemies, I first noticed this guy in Gone in 60 Seconds. Guess who he played? None other than Nicolas Cage's younger brother. Well whoever cast that movie, cast these two perfectly. Giovanni Ribisi is definitely following Nic's footsteps, or should I say in Nic's hairline.

Giovanni has been balding for quite some time. However, recently it appears he is trying to cover it up a bit. For now he is just combing his hair forward. Perhaps like his fictional older brother, we will be seeing some hair pieces in the future.

This guy has it all - a hot supermodel wife, great football career, good looks. And for now a nice hair line. However, that may change in the near future. Many people report a bald spot appearing on the back of his head. So far this is the best photo I have been able to find.

[Tuesday] afternoon, the NFL MVP was seen heading into a building on Seventh Avenue NYC with several medical offices. PageSix.com first called the podiatrist (for his suspect right foot), but the receptionist there said, "No, he wasn't here." PageSix.com then called the chiropractic practice, but the receptionist there said, "No, he didn't come in." Finally, PageSix.com phoned AMD Lab USA, a trichologist (that's hair restoration specialist, as in, for someone who is losing theirs), and was told, very pointedly, "No comment."
